Danger! Flavor Eruption! Volcanic Cheese Kimchi Fried Rice!

Today, I made a dish called a “Volcano.”

At first glance, I thought this dish would be perfect for kids or girls. However, I might have been a bit biased, thinking it was more about the visual appeal than anything else.

But to my surprise, the result was quite delightful.

Although it looks extravagant, the preparation isn’t actually that complicated – just invert the fried rice into a pot, make a hole, and add some toppings. The vibrant red kimchi fried rice, which might have seemed a bit plain, is transformed by the cheese and egg mixture, infusing the fried rice with a rich aroma from top to bottom.

The best part is the circle of solidified egg at the base of the volcano, reminiscent of an omurice. But instead of a dry egg skin, it’s incredibly smooth and tender.

When eating, make sure to use a large spoon, scoop up the fried rice with some cheese, and then take a spoonful of the egg. The spicy, fragrant, and tender textures intertwine, bursting with flavor like an erupting volcano, truly living up to its name: Volcano Fried Rice. Enjoy it slowly!

Ingredients:

  • Green onions
  • Luncheon meat
  • Kimchi leaves
  • Korean chili paste
  • Chili powder
  • Soy sauce
  • Seaweed flakes
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Eggs

Preparation:

1、Prepare Ingredients: Slice 1/4 of a green onion into fine rings, dice half a block of luncheon meat, and dice 3 kimchi leaves.

2、Cook Luncheon Meat: Heat a pan with cold oil, sauté the green onion rings until fragrant, then add the diced luncheon meat and cook on low heat until the surface is golden brown.

3、Add Kimchi and Rice: Add the diced kimchi and a large bowl of cold rice, stir-fry over medium heat.

4、Seasoning: Add 1 large spoonful of kimchi juice, a generous spoonful of Korean chili paste, 1 spoonful of chili powder, and 1 spoonful of soy sauce, stir-fry until well mixed.

5、Add Seaweed: Sprinkle in a handful of seaweed flakes, stir-fry to combine.

6、Shape the Rice: Place the fried rice into a large round bowl, press down to compact, cover with a small pot, and invert onto the table, then remove the bowl.

7、Create the Volcano: Use chopsticks to poke a hole in the center of the rice and shape a groove around it.

8、Melt Cheese: Melt 35g of mozzarella cheese in a pan over the lowest heat.

9、Pour Cheese: Pour the melted cheese into the center of the rice volcano.

10、Cook Egg: Pour a little oil around the pot, beat 2 eggs, and pour them from the top of the volcano along the groove into the pan.

11、Finish: Cook the egg mixture over low heat until set.

Enjoy a meal that brings happiness,
and let out a smile like a child’s.
