But when you make it at home, you can load up the plate with juicy, tender ribs and plenty of fluffy taro, satisfying your cravings while keeping your wallet happy. Steamed Pork Ribs with Taro Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 500g pork ribs (cut into 2-inch pieces)
- Cold water (for soaking)
- 1 tablespoon cooking wine
- 2 green onions (cut into sections)
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon dark soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper powder
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
For the Taro:
- 300g Li Pu taro (peeled and cut into 1-inch thick slices, then cut each slice into four equal parts)
Instructions:
1、Soak the pork ribs in cold water to remove any blood, then rinse and pat dry.

2、In a mixing bowl, combine the ribs with cooking wine, green onion sections, minced ginger, minced garlic, salt, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, white pepper powder, and cornstarch. Mix well, drizzle with cooking oil, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 1 hour to marinate.
3、Peel and cut the taro into thick slices, then cut each slice into four equal parts.

4、Lay the taro slices in a steaming dish, then top with the marinated pork ribs.

5、Steam over high heat for 30 minutes once the water in the steamer boils.

6、After steaming, sprinkle with chopped green onions if desired and serve.
