A Quiet Afternoon Turns Into a Nightmare
Monsi Pena lives in Texas and shares her home with a cat named Kitty.
Last month, that peaceful home was shattered when two armed men broke in and attempted to rob her.
What happened next stunned everyone.
Kitty did not hide.
She attacked.
The Knock at the Door
The incident took place on Thursday afternoon, November 6. Pena was home alone in her apartment in Gulfton, a neighborhood in Houston. 
A man knocked on her door and claimed he was selling perfumes, creams, and cosmetics. Pena declined. The man left.
A short time later, he returned. This time, he brought another man with him.
Robbers Make Their Move
Security footage from nearby neighbors showed the two men standing downstairs. They spoke in Spanish while planning the robbery. Then they walked upstairs and forced their way into Pena’s apartment.
One man wore a hoodie, gloves, and a face mask. Both were armed with guns.
Sensing danger, Pena tried to lock herself inside her bedroom. The robbers kicked the door open.
Kitty the Cat Strikes Back
At that exact moment, Kitty sprang into action.
The cat leaped onto one of the intruders and began attacking him. Pena later said Kitty climbed onto the man’s body and fought fiercely to protect her.
Unfortunately, one small house cat could not overpower two armed men.
The attackers struck Kitty with the butt of a gun. Pena said she feared they were trying to kill her cat.
Violence and Threats
The robbers then pointed their guns at Pena. They beat her with their weapons and demanded cash, jewelry, and her phone.
Before leaving, they issued a chilling threat.
They warned her not to call the police. If she did, they said they would return and kill her.
Terrified, Pena agreed.
Criminals Make a Stupid Mistake
Despite their threats, the robbers made a careless error.
Surveillance cameras captured them fleeing the scene. One of the men forgot his backpack outside Pena’s apartment door.
When police arrived, they searched the bag and found a cellphone registered to Mohamed Robinson.
That phone became crucial evidence.
Arrests Follow Quickly
Not long after the robbery, Robinson was arrested in a separate case involving an assault on his mother. He was later charged with robbery related to Pena’s case.
Police soon arrested the second suspect, Armando Torres. He was charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
Both men are currently held in the Harris County Jail.
Torres awaits a bond decision and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday. Robinson’s bond was set at $75,000, with his next hearing scheduled for January 26.
A Shocking Encounter After the Crime
Pena later revealed another disturbing detail.
When she went to her apartment’s leasing office to report the crime, one of the suspects stopped her. He claimed he was innocent and tried to blame his accomplice.
He allegedly told her not to call the police and insisted the other man was responsible.
Online Praise for a Hero Cat
News of Kitty’s bravery spread quickly. Online commenters praised the cat for her courage.
“Such a good cat,” one person wrote.
“Great job, Kitty,” said another, wishing she had scratched the attackers’ eyes.
Others joked about training “Texas attack cats.”
Many admitted their own cats would have run away.
Kitty didn’t.

Kitty’s instinctive reaction showed loyalty, courage, and love.
She didn’t hesitate.
She defended her human.
