The World’s Most “In-Sync” Twins: Sharing One Life, One Man… and Even Pregnancy?

The Twins Who Refuse to Live Separate Lives

For most people, identical twins are already rare. But for Anna and Lucy DeCinque, these Australian sisters took “identical” to a whole new level. Instead of carving out different paths in life, they chose to share one—down to the smallest detail.

From childhood onward, the pair insisted they were “the world’s most identical twins.” They ate the same meals, wore the same outfits, and even synchronized their daily habits. Bath time, bathroom breaks—everything happened in perfect unison.

“If I walk ten steps, she walks ten steps. If I go to the bathroom, she goes too,” they once said.

Their obsession with staying identical meant matching calorie intake, identical cosmetic procedures, and equal doses of dermal fillers. Their world revolved around one rule: whatever one does, the other must do, too.

Sharing More Than a Life—Sharing a Partner

Enter Ben, the Man They Both Love

You might think such synchronized twins would pursue a pair of twin brothers.
But Anna and Lucy had a different plan: they chose to share the same partner—Ben Byrne.

Ben is also a twin, though his brother chose a traditional one-partner relationship.

As for Ben? He says he loves the sisters equally.

Their home features a super-sized bed where all three sleep together. Equality is non-negotiable:
If Ben kisses Anna, he must kiss Lucy. If he holds one sister’s hand, he must hold the other’s.

“Whatever he does to me, he must do to Lucy,” Anna explained.

Interestingly, the sisters remain even closer to each other than to Ben, often joining forces to tease him. Ben claims he doesn’t mind—after all, it means “double the love, double the attention.”

The Emotional Toll of Staying Identical

Even with their seemingly harmonious lifestyle, Ben admits it hasn’t always been easy.

After a decade together, he noticed the sisters’ need for perfect synchronicity becoming “more extreme.”
He worries they are stuck in a complex struggle over identity and individuality, issues common in studies of identical twins.

Their mother shares similar concerns, believing the sisters obsess over minor details and risk losing sight of bigger life priorities.

Still, the trio insists they’re happy and committed to making their unconventional relationship work.

A Shared Dream: Becoming Pregnant Together

The Struggle to Conceive at the Same Time

Of all their goals, the sisters have one dream above all others:
to become pregnant at the exact same time.

Since 2021, the trio has tried every natural method imaginable. The sisters measured their body temperatures daily to track ovulation , propped their legs up against the wall, and synchronized their entire menstrual cycles—hoping luck would strike twice.

But getting pregnant simultaneously proved nearly impossible.

At one point, Anna experienced a false pregnancy, and Lucy said she nearly had a heart attack:

“She can’t be pregnant without me. We have to be pregnant together.”

After years of failure, they’re now considering IVF to improve their chances—partly because Ben feels enormous pressure to help both women conceive.

Love vs. The Law: Australia Says No

There’s an even bigger roadblock:
Australia’s Marriage Act prohibits polygamy and has done so since 1961.

The twins are frustrated:

“We want to marry Ben someday, but the law won’t let us. What are we supposed to do?”

They insist they’re consenting adults and should be free to live—and marry—however they choose.

Even without legal marriage, Ben held a dual proposal ceremony in 2021.
At the same place where their first date happened, he pulled out two rings.

“Anna, you mean the world to me. I’m committed to you.”
“Lucy, you also mean the world to me. I’m committed to you too.”

He told them he loved them both and wanted a lifetime together.

A Life Only They Understand

Their lifestyle may baffle outsiders, but to Anna, Lucy, and Ben, it’s simply their version of happiness.

Three people, one relationship, and an unshakable belief that love—however unconventional—belongs to those who choose it.
