Onesmoothoperator has introduced himself as a contender for Australia’s most well-known horse race after claiming the Geelong Cup on Wednesday.
The American horse, based mostly in England, blitzed the sector to say the 137th version of the race and put itself into agency competition for the Melbourne Cup.
The seven-year-old gelding, ridden by Craig Williams, took the lead with 250 metres to go and completed two-and-a-half lengths forward of Interpretation in second and Muramasa in third.
