AS work continues on constructing the brand new street approaching York Railway Station as a part of the redevelopment of the positioning, we have a look again to when station and its rail traces ran inside the metropolis partitions.
This pictures reveals the previous railway space close to Lendal Bridge, inside the town partitions, around1868.
The image reveals the carriage sidings for the York and North Midland Line which have been initially the Y&M’s coal depot sidings.
Entry to the coal depots was blocked within the early 1870s when there was in depth website clearance in preparation for the brand new railway station and lodge exterior the partitions.
