Billionaire Jeff Bezos congratulated President-elect Donald Trump for “a unprecedented political comeback and decisive victory” on Wednesday after the previous president defeated Vice President Kamala Harris on election evening.
The congratulatory message got here after Bezos made headlines and irked liberals when his newspaper, the Washington Put up, introduced it was not endorsing a candidate within the race regardless of years of hostile protection of Trump.

After widespread backlash from Washington Put up staffers over Bezos not permitting the paper to endorse Harris, the Amazon mogul defended his determination with an op-ed within the “Democracy Dies in Darkness” paper.
The billionaire Amazon founder, who purchased The Put up in 2013, insisted that newspaper endorsements “do nothing to tip the scales of an election” however as an alternative “create a notion of bias.” He doubled down on The Put up’s determination to finish its presidential endorsements by saying it is a “principled determination, and it’s the fitting one.”
