The Japan Meteorological Company (JMA) is at the moment experiencing points displaying pictures from the Himawari climate satellite tv for pc on its official web site. Efforts are underway to determine the trigger and restore regular service, however the timeline for restoration stays unclear.

In line with the JMA, a malfunction occurred with the Himawari-9 climate satellite tv for pc at round 4 a.m., stopping infrared and water vapor pictures from displaying correctly on the company’s web site.
Whereas monitoring for typhoons and volcanic ash is affected, the JMA confirmed that there isn’t any affect on the issuance of warnings and advisories. It’s believed that the malfunction stems from a problem with Himawari-9’s remark gear. Efforts are ongoing to revive Himawari-9’s capabilities, with a potential change to the backup Himawari-8 satellite tv for pc into consideration.
