Labour Minister Steven MacKinnon says he’s intervening to finish the work stoppages at ports in each British Columbia and Montreal.
He says the negotiations have reached an deadlock and he’s directing the Canada Industrial Relations Board to order the resumption of all operations on the ports and transfer the talks to binding arbitration.
He says the work stoppages on the ports of British Columbia and the Port of Montreal are considerably impacting provide chains, hundreds of jobs, and Canada’s status as a dependable buying and selling associate.
