South Korea has confirmed the season’s third case of extremely pathogenic avian influenza at a poultry farm west of Seoul, a provincial authorities stated Monday.
The case was reported on the hen farm in Incheon’s Ganghwa County, 51 kilometers west of Seoul.
Authorities culled over 15,000 chickens on the farm, and plan to slaughter an extra 17,000 chickens raised at close by farms.
The most recent case follows Korea’s affirmation of the season’s second extremely pathogenic AI case earlier this month. (Yonhap)
