Georgian police mentioned on Saturday they arrested dozens of individuals throughout a crackdown on pro-European Union protesters who rallied Friday for a ninth consecutive day towards the federal government choice to shelve talks on becoming a member of the bloc.
Safety forces fired tear fuel and water cannons to disperse the hundreds of people that had gathered exterior parliament in Tbilisi within the night to demand recent elections and a return to European integration.
“Regulation enforcement detained 48 people for disobedience to lawful police orders and petty hooliganism,” the inside ministry mentioned in an announcement.
