COMECE advocates for the distinctive contribution of Spiritual Schooling on the European Faculties in newest place paper.
The Fee of the Bishops’ Conferences of the European Union (COMECE) publishes a place paper titled ‘Spiritual Schooling within the European Faculties – A Distinctive and Important Contribution to the Subsequent Technology of Europeans’ on Wednesday, 18 December 2024. Constructing on the imaginative and prescient and mission of the European Faculties relating to Spiritual Schooling, the doc displays on the significance of Spiritual Schooling in Europe at present. Drafted in cooperation with the Coordinators of Catholic Faith working on the European Faculties—who assist the actions and work of Catholic faith lecturers in Brussels and different Member States—the place paper highlights that faith presents an area for learners to find that means and function, enhances their ethical and moral growth, successfully promotes social cohesion, and helps stop radicalisation.
“Spiritual schooling helps college students perceive the historic and cultural dimensions of yesterday and at present’s Europe. It deepens the understanding of Europe’s heritage that’s straight linked to Christianity. As a part of its mission to signify the Bishops of the Dioceses the place European Faculties are situated, and as a detailed collaborator of Spiritual Schooling lecturers, COMECE will maintain its subsequent common assembly with the Common Secretariat of the European Faculties on 8 January 2025. Spiritual authorities and members of the Secretariat will focus on the present state of Faith lessons and the motion plan developed in response to the 2023 European Parliament decision.
