Egypt is ready to control the operations of Airbnb, the favored world home-renting platform, in keeping with Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy, as reported by Al-Ahram.
In an interview with Asharq Bloomberg on Monday, 23 December, Fathy revealed that upcoming tips would guarantee the security, cleanliness, and total high quality of lodging listed on the platform.
The laws will cowl varied sorts of properties, together with serviced flats, shared houses, and personal rooms.
“To distinguish between permitted and non-approved listings, we plan to introduce an accreditation system for properties that meet the ministry’s requirements,” Fathy acknowledged, including that the rules can be easy and straightforward to implement.
Airbnb’s presence in Egypt aligns with the federal government’s tourism technique, which goals to draw 30 million vacationers yearly by 2028, and increase its hospitality sector, with initiatives like constructing extra lodge rooms and diversifying lodging choices.
The Egyptian authorities plans so as to add round 250,000 new lodge rooms to the present 220,000 nationwide.
