Airdrie enterprise proprietor charged after police discover stolen automobiles

An Airdrie man is going through a number of costs following a multi-property search that turned up three stole automobiles with altered car identification numbers.

On Aug. 28, the RCMP auto theft unit labored with Alberta Legislation Enforcement Response Group (ALERT), Airdrie RCMP and Calgary Police Service to execute search warrants at three areas in Calgary and Airdrie, two of which have been Worldwide Motor Vehicles dealership areas.

A search of the dealerships resulted within the discovery of three stolen automobiles, with altered car identification numbers. These automobiles had been bought, or have been marketed to be bought, by the dealership.

One other car found was decided to be the results of felony exercise.

Officers started the investigation into the dealership in 2023.

The proprietor of the dealership, Brooks Stella, 26, of Airdrie, has been charged with cash laundering, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of property obtained by crime for the aim of trafficking, fraud over $5000, forgery and two counts of trafficking of property obtained by crime.

Stella has been launched from custody and can seem in Alberta Courtroom of Justice in Airdrie on Oct. 23.

Police consider there have been different stolen and fraudulent automobiles bought by the dealership that haven’t been positioned. Officers are working with Alberta Motor Car Trade Council (AMVIC) to contact clients who might unknowingly have bought a stolen or fraudulent car from Worldwide Motor Vehicles.
