Andrew Strohmeyer (CXD Trek Bikes) made it two in a row successful the C2 occasion at Virginia’s Blue Ridge Go Cross Cyclocross held in Fallon Park, Roanoke, Virginia on Sunday.
He crossed the road 21 seconds forward of runner-up Kerry Werner (Groove Auto Off Street Racing) and 33 seconds forward of third-placed Marcis Shelton (Bear CX).
Scott Funston (Cervelo Orange Residing) had a one-second lead by the tip of the second lap, forcing a determined chase from Werner, Curtis White (Steve Tilford Basis Racing), Strohmeyer and Jules Van Kempen (Cervelo Orange Residing).
Funston was joined by Strohmeyer and Werner as they raced by way of the end line on the finish of the fourth lap. Owen Brenneman (CXD Trek Bikes) and White at six seconds again.
After regrouping, Strohmeyer took the race lead and opened a niche of 18 seconds on Werner, whereas Brenneman, Shelton and Funston had been 34 seconds again.
Strohmeyer crossed the end line with the victory with a 21-second lead over runner-up Werner and prolonged his lead within the USCX.
