TOKYO, Nov 14 (Information On Japan) –
A 65-year-old American vacationer, Hays Steve Lee, was arrested on suspicion of property harm after reportedly carving letters into the torii gate at Meiji Shrine, Tokyo’s distinguished cultural landmark.
In accordance with the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Division, Lee arrived in Japan on October eleventh for a household tour with 4 kinfolk. Throughout his go to, he allegedly engraved the initials of his members of the family into the shrine’s torii gate.
In questioning, Lee admitted to the allegations, saying, “There isn’t any mistake.”
