The protection ministry’s prosecutors’ workplace on Tuesday indicted a navy intelligence official for allegedly leaking data of South Korean espionage brokers working abroad.
The official on the Korea Protection Intelligence Command, whose identification is withheld, was arrested earlier this month on allegations of handing over private data of “black brokers” to a Chinese language nationwide of Korean descent, who’s probably an informant for North Korea’s intelligence company.
The protection ministry mentioned the prosecutors indicted the official on prices of aiding the enemy, bribery and violating the Army Secrets and techniques Safety Act, believing that the person leaked confidential data in alternate for monetary features.
The prosecutors, nonetheless, didn’t pursue espionage prices, apparently as a result of lack of a transparent connection to North Korea.
Intelligence authorities turned conscious of the alleged leak round June. The command believes that the confidential knowledge was transferred to the suspect’s private laptop computer and subsequently leaked.
