OTTAWA –
As we speak Canadians will bear in mind and honour the sacrifice of women and men in uniform who gave their lives in service of the nation’s values and ideas.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Gov. Gen. Mary Simon are each anticipated to pay their respects in a ceremony on the Nationwide Struggle Memorial in Ottawa.
They are going to be joined by this yr’s Silver Cross Mom Maureen Anderson from New Brunswick whose two sons Sgt. Ron Anderson and Sgt. Ryan Anderson, each served in Afghanistan.
Anderson, whose sons each died after a battle with post-traumatic stress dysfunction, will symbolize the moms left behind by all service members killed within the line of obligation.
The mournful sound of the Final Publish may also be heard at numerous different cenotaphs and monuments throughout the nation, as Canadians take a second at 11 a.m. to pay silent respects to the fallen.
The ceremonies may also honour members of Canada’s armed forces who proceed to serve in the present day.
