Our Take
The barrage of mud, and reportedly some rocks, seen in Paiporta shouldn’t be a standard sight for post-natural catastrophe protests. However it’s par for the course for anger to be directed at elected officers when they’re blamed for failures in catastrophe response.
That’s the case in Valencia, the place the state’s response to the flooding has been gradual, with residents thus far relying extra on civil society and volunteers for the cleanup effort. Within the city of Paiporta, as an illustration, many residents nonetheless had not acquired fundamental requirements when Felipe and Sanchez arrived.
