Egypt has condemned the remarks made by Israeli Nationwide Safety Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir concerning plans to set up a Jewish synagogue inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
In an announcement issued by the Ministry of International Affairs and Immigration on Monday, August 26, 2024, Egypt emphasised its place on the matter, holding Israel legally chargeable for upholding and safeguarding Al-Aqsa Mosque and Christian holy websites.
