Financial institution of America’s cellular functions have been apparently knocked offline Wednesday.
Many BofA account holders took to social media platforms to say they both couldn’t entry their on-line accounts or noticed zero balances once they did log in.
The Charlotte, North Carolina-based financial institution stated in a press release that some purchasers “are experiencing a problem accessing their accounts and steadiness info immediately.”
“These points are being addressed and have largely been resolved,” the assertion continued. “We apologize for any inconvenience.”
One X consumer drolly posted that their cash was gone, “however conveniently my debt remains to be there.” A screenshot of their cellular app confirmed zero balances for all BofA accounts besides one Visa card.
DownDetector, an internet tracker of technical outages, reported between 5,000 to twenty,000 BofA customers reported an outage beginning at 9 a.m. and peaking by 11 a.m. The detector stated on-line, cellular and ATM customers have been affected.
Jasmene Bowdry, a consumer on Meta’s social platform Threads, stated all of her BofA accounts confirmed $0.
“That’s all of the warning I would like,” she wrote. “Placing all my ish (sic) beneath the mattress and a Crisco can.”
Different Thread customers chimed in with:
“Did Financial institution of America rent Bernie Madoff or one thing?”
“First, (a) Verizon outage … then the ports closing … now Financial institution of America is having points…”
“Didn’t have “Die Arduous” on my bingo card this 12 months.”
Others reported reaching customer support on the financial institution, which instructed them it was a “glitch” they have been engaged on.
Earlier this week, hundreds of Verizon customers throughout the U.S. reported little or no cellphone service in main cities, together with in Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, New York and Phoenix.
