ispace transported the rover, named “Tenacious,” from its manufacturing base in Luxembourg to Japan in a specialised container.
The rover measures 54 cm in size and weighs roughly 5 kg. After the rover is mounted onto a lunar lander in Japan, it will likely be transported to the US. There, it’s scheduled to be launched aboard a rocket from American area firm SpaceX this winter.
The rover is anticipated to succeed in the moon in about 5 months, with the aim of accumulating lunar soil samples.
