Roy Keane was unimpressed by England’s second-half show regardless of their 2-0 win in opposition to the Republic of Eire this afternoon.
The previous Eire midfielder watched as targets from Declan Rice and Jack Grealish put the Three Lions in full management at half-time however they did not construct on their superiority within the second interval.
Keane felt Lee Carsley’s males had eased off and even accused them of conceitedness.
He advised ITV Sport: “Eire had been there for the taking. England had been dominant within the first half and we praised their decision-making, high quality and motion.
“However I believed they had been terrible within the second half – they performed inside themselves, took too many touches, tried enjoying ‘Roy of the Rovers’ passes. Hold doing the fundamentals and suck Eire out.
“Nearly as good as England had been within the first half, I believed they had been as dangerous within the second. Even the subs, gamers strolling off, displaying a little bit of conceitedness.”
Keane’s fellow pundit, former England striker Ian Wright, was equally upset by the second-half displaying.
He stated: “The second half, the efficiency felt to me like England took their foot off the gasoline a bit.
“The way in which we began, the way in which we performed, I believed we should always have pressed it dwelling a little bit bit extra.
“I believed we’d have performed with the identical depth, see if we may get three or 4, be extra ruthless.”
