Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of President-elect Donald Trump, mentioned Saturday that she’s eradicating herself from consideration to be a Florida senator — ending hypothesis that she may exchange Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, who has been tapped to be the incoming administration’s secretary of state.
“After an unbelievable quantity of thought, contemplation, and encouragement from so many, I’ve determined to take away my identify from consideration for america Senate,” Lara Trump posted on X.
As a substitute, she promised a “massive announcement to share in January.”
The announcement comes weeks after Trump introduced that she was stepping down as co-chair of the Republican Nationwide Committee, a transfer which raised questions on whether or not she is likely to be vying for a Senate seat.
If Rubio is confirmed, his substitute — who can be chosen by Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis — would serve for 2 years till the following frequently scheduled election in 2026.

Elected as RNC co-chair in March, Trump was a key participant within the GOP retaking the White Home and management of the Senate, whereas sustaining a slender Home majority.
