Whereas a girl was making an attempt to take her personal life by leaping into the Han River in Seoul, a person stole her bag and fled the scene on a bicycle. Amid the chaotic chase that ensued, one other man on a motorbike chased the suspect down to help the police in catching him.
The Seoul police stated lately that Mapo Police Station has awarded a person surnamed Lee a certificates of appreciation for his help in stopping the suspect from getting away on Aug. 18, after the suspect stole the bag of a girl on Mapodaegyo over the Han River.
“I really feel an incredible sense of satisfaction that I used to be in a position to contribute slightly to sustaining public security and order,” Lee stated in a video posted on Seoul Metropolitan Police Company’s official YouTube channel, Friday.
Cops had initially gone to the scene to assist the lady, who was making an attempt to take her personal life by leaping into the Han River from the bridge. After being notified that she had been rescued by authorities, the police began following a person who had fled the scene by bike with the lady’s bag.
The patrol automobiles chasing the suspect stopped of their tracks once they encountered a slim alleyway. Whereas the officers rotated searching for an alternate route, Lee began chasing the suspect on his motorbike.
“I assumed (police) couldn’t chase the suspect down a slim alley. I assumed {that a} man working away from the police was prone to be a suspect and stepped up,” Lee stated. He managed to observe the suspect and obtained him to step off his bicycle, at which level the officers caught as much as them and took the suspect into custody.
The suspect, a person in his 40s, is at present being investigated by the prosecution.
