Former Michigan State and Staff USA gymnastics physician Larry Nassar is dealing with 22 counts of first-degree felony sexual conduct led to by over 100 girls, and a significant Olympian simply joined the record of accusers.
McKayla Maroney, who gained gold with the 2012 London Olympics staff and silver on vault, tweeted a press release Wednesday through which she alleges Nassar started sexually abusing her when she was 13 whereas claiming it was “medically needed therapy.” The now-21-year-old stated she was impressed by the current revitalization of the “Me Too” marketing campaign, through which survivors of sexual assault and harassment share their tales on social media.
