A person died when an SUV hit a bicyclist on Interstate 880 in West Oakland on Friday evening, authorities mentioned.
The collision occurred round 8:20 p.m. on northbound I-880 north of seventh Road, in response to the California Freeway Patrol. The person was pronounced useless on the scene.
It was unclear why the bicyclist was on the freeway.
All lanes had been blocked earlier than reopening by 11:30 p.m. on Friday, the CHP mentioned.
