As beforehand reported by The Press, the ultimate stage of Metropolis of York Council’s £3.5 million scheme to guard towards ‘automobile as weapon assaults’ was at Excessive Ousegate’s junction with Piccadilly – subsequent to Parliament Avenue and the soon-to-be open Christmas Markets.
Work started on August 27, because the street closed to through-traffic in the course of the nine-week interval.
Now, on November 9, entry to autos has been restored – other than between 10.30am to 5pm each day, extending to 7pm in the course of the Christmas Market interval.
Blue Badge entry is not going to be permitted by means of the bollards between 10.30am to 7pm in the course of the Christmas Market interval, Metropolis of York Council stated.
