The Bridgeport Islanders have signed ahead Chris Terry to an American Hockey League contract for the 2024-25 season.
Terry returns for his sixteenth professional season and his second stint with the group after main Bridgeport in scoring in each 2021-22 and 2022-23. He’s the franchise’s record-holder for factors (78) and assists (51) in a single season, and likewise helped the Islanders win their first Calder Cup Playoff sequence in 19 years in 2022.
Terry spent final season with the Chicago Wolves, serving as workforce captain and gathering 21 objectives and 29 assists for 50 factors in 61 video games. It was his tenth profession 20-goal season within the AHL.
In 815 regular-season video games with Chicago, Bridgeport, Grand Rapids, Laval, St. John’s, Charlotte and Albany, Terry has totaled 311 objectives and 430 assists for 741 factors. He enters the 2024-25 marketing campaign tied for seventeenth all-time in objectives, tied for twenty third in factors, twenty sixth in assists and thirty eighth in video games performed.
Terry gained the AHL scoring title in 2017-18, is a five-time participant within the AHL All-Star Traditional (2012, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020), and was a First Crew AHL All-Star in 2017-18 and a Second Crew choice in 2016-17. Off the ice, he’s a three-time workforce winner of the IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Yr award for his work in the local people in Laval (2018) and Grand Rapids (2019, 2020).
A fifth-round choose by Carolina within the 2007 NHL Draft, Terry has collected 22 objectives and 16 assists in 152 profession NHL video games with the Hurricanes and Montreal Canadiens.
