A freaky monkey toy unleashes loss of life and destruction in The Monkey, director Osgood Perkins’s (Longlegs) adaptation of Stephen King’s brief story of the identical title.
‘Longlegs’ haunting ending, defined
The movie follows twins Hal and Invoice (each performed by The White Lotus‘s Theo James), who discover their father’s previous monkey toy within the attic. In response to The Monkey‘s new redband teaser, the toy is a an otherworldly beast with the facility to kill anybody. “Whoever controls it, controls life and loss of life,” James tells us in voiceover. “And people deaths are actually fucked up.”
