Aichi Prefectural Police arrested three males Tuesday on suspicion of theft after they allegedly broke into properties within the cities of Gifu and Nagoya, stealing money.
Since April 2022, roughly 120 burglaries have been reported throughout the prefecture primarily concentrating on prosperous neighborhoods, in accordance with police, with estimated losses totaling round ¥800 million ($5.5 million). The police imagine the three males could have been concerned in these crimes.
The suspects, recognized as Tomoya Sakai, 40, from Nagoya’s Nakamura Ward, Mitsuhiko Ogata, 37, from Higashi Ward, and Masakazu Todoroki, 43, from Moriyama Ward, are all at present unemployed. The police haven’t disclosed whether or not the suspects have admitted to the costs.
Sakai and Ogata are suspected of breaking into a house within the metropolis of Gifu within the early hours of Feb. 16 and stealing ¥200,000 in money. Todoroki is suspected of breaking into two properties in Nagoya on Feb. 27 and 28, stealing roughly ¥390,000 in money and 150 present certificates valued at ¥165,000.
The police had beforehand arrested the trio in August for storing a stolen car in a car parking zone in Nagoya.
