UN Secretary-Normal Antonio Guterres on Sunday denounced assaults which have injured a number of peacekeepers in southern Lebanon, his spokesman stated, as Israeli forces transfer in opposition to Hezbollah militants.
“UNIFIL personnel and its premises must not ever be focused,” Stephane Dujarric stated, referring to the blue-helmeted worldwide drive. “Assaults in opposition to peacekeepers are in breach of worldwide regulation…(and) could represent a struggle crime.”
“In a deeply worrying incident that occurred as we speak, the doorway door of a UN place was intentionally breached by IDF armored automobiles,” he added in an announcement.
Not less than 5 peacekeepers have been wounded in current days as Israel targets Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
UNIFIL, a mission of about 9,500 troops of varied nationalities created following Israel’s 1978 invasion of Lebanon, has accused the Israeli army of “intentionally” firing on its positions.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu referred to as on Guterres on Sunday to maneuver peacekeepers deployed in south Lebanon out of “hurt’s method”, saying Hezbollah was utilizing them as “human shields”.
UNIFIL has refused to go away its positions.
