Russia Reports Unprecedented Drone Attack by Ukraine
Russia claimed it was hit by a “massive” drone attack overnight on Tuesday, just hours before a critical meeting between officials from the United States and Ukraine in Saudi Arabia.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, 337 Ukrainian drones were intercepted, with 91 targeting the Moscow region. If confirmed, this would mark one of the largest drone assaults on Russian soil since the start of the war.
Moscow Under Fire: Fatalities and Damage Reported
The Moscow region suffered significant damage due to falling drone debris. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin described the incident as the “most massive” attack on the capital to date. 
Two people were killed and at least six injured, according to Governor Andrey Vorobyev.
A fire broke out in a parking lot, destroying more than 20 vehicles.
Explosions were reported near an apartment building in southern Moscow, as seen in verified footage.
Moscow’s main airports temporarily shut down, redirecting flights to other locations.
Meanwhile, Ukraine faced Russian missile and drone strikes, leading to at least one death and 18 injuries, according to reports from Ukrainian officials.
US-Ukraine Talks Amid Escalating Tensions
The attack came just before high-level negotiations between US and Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz were set to meet with Ukraine’s National Security Adviser, Foreign Minister, and Defense Minister.
