Zorro Ranch Under Investigation: Dark Secrets Resurface in Epstein Case

A Long-Silent Property Reopens Old Questions

On March 9, 2026, the government of New Mexico released a brief but striking statement. Authorities had officially begun a search of Jeffrey Epstein’s Zorro Ranch. The goal was to investigate alleged illegal activities that may have taken place there before his death in 2019.

This renewed action traces back to January, when the United States Department of Justice released millions of pages of documents related to the Epstein case. Among them was a chilling anonymous email sent in 2019 to local radio host Eddy Aragon.

The sender claimed to be a former ranch employee. The message described two foreign girls who were allegedly strangled during violent abuse and buried on the property. It also referenced “Ghislaine,” believed to be Ghislaine Maxwell.

Aragon said he forwarded the email to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He claimed to know the sender’s identity but has never revealed it publicly. Attempts to contact the sender later failed.

A Ranch That Escaped Scrutiny

The email reignited attention toward Zorro Ranch. Unlike Epstein’s properties in New York, Florida, or the Caribbean, this remote estate had never undergone thorough scrutiny.

An earlier investigation had been halted in 2019 at the request of federal prosecutors. That left many questions unanswered.

Last month, New Mexico’s attorney general ordered the case reopened. This week, state authorities, police, and the local sheriff’s office began coordinated searches of the ranch.

At the same time, lawmakers voted to establish a bipartisan “truth commission.” This body has the authority to issue subpoenas and compel testimony.

State Representative Andrea Romero stated that for years, allegations about Epstein’s activities in New Mexico had circulated without a clear official record. She emphasized that the commission aims to uncover failures, learn lessons, and prevent future abuses.

A Property Designed for Secrecy

Zorro Ranch is located near Stanley, about 30 miles south of Santa Fe. Epstein purchased it in 1993 from former governor Bruce King.

The property spans roughly 7,500 acres. It includes a main residence, a private airstrip, a helicopter pad, and an aircraft hangar.

The mansion itself is lavish. It features multiple bedrooms, a library, and expansive living spaces. Epstein’s personal suite occupied much of the second floor.

Due to its isolation, the ranch has long been suspected of hosting illicit activities away from public view.

Allegations of Abuse and “Genetic Ambitions”

Over the years, disturbing claims have emerged about what may have occurred there. Some allegations suggest the ranch was used for sexual exploitation and trafficking. Others go further, describing experiments tied to Epstein’s reported interest in eugenics.

Reports claim he discussed plans to impregnate multiple women using his own genetic material. His stated goal was to produce what he considered “superior offspring.”

This idea may have been inspired by a controversial project known as the Repository for Germinal Choice, a sperm bank that once claimed to store genetic material from highly accomplished individuals.

Recent witnesses have added new layers to these allegations. Some individuals say they were subjected to non-consensual medical procedures. Others claim they were drugged and later found themselves surrounded by medical equipment, with little memory of what happened.

Testimonies That Cannot Be Ignored

Among the most significant accounts are those from sisters Maria and Annie Farmer.

In 2019, Maria Farmer filed legal documents describing her experiences. In the mid-1990s, she worked for Epstein, helping manage his New York residence. She reported seeing underage girls brought into the property under the guise of modeling opportunities.

According to her testimony, Epstein and Maxwell later targeted her younger sister Annie. In 1996, Annie was taken to Zorro Ranch and allegedly assaulted there.

Maria herself also described being assaulted at another property linked to Epstein. She said she attempted to report the incident but faced intimidation and confinement before being allowed to leave.

She later contacted both the New York Police Department and the FBI. She believes she was among the first to report Epstein and Maxwell to federal authorities.

A Playground for the Powerful

Zorro Ranch was not only a place of alleged abuse. It also functioned as a private retreat for influential guests.

Civil lawsuits claim that high-profile individuals visited the property. Among those mentioned is Prince Andrew. Other names, including Bill Clinton, have appeared in rumors, though Clinton has denied ever visiting the ranch.

Compared to Epstein’s Caribbean island, the ranch offered greater privacy. Its remote location made it an ideal setting for discreet gatherings.

From Crime Scene to New Ownership

After Epstein’s death in 2019, the ranch was listed for sale. The price was eventually reduced before it was purchased by the family of businessman Don Huffines.

The property was renamed Rancho de San Rafael. Huffines has stated plans to transform it into a Christian retreat.

Despite the change in ownership, the site’s past continues to cast a long shadow.

Calls for Justice Grow Louder

Ahead of the search, protesters gathered at the ranch on March 8, International Women’s Day. They held signs demanding justice and recognition for victims.

Family members of Virginia Giuffre, one of the most prominent survivors, also attended and spoke publicly.

For many victims and their families, the truth about Zorro Ranch remains deeply personal.

They are not just seeking answers. They are seeking closure.

A Search for Truth That May Finally Begin

The renewed investigation sends a clear message. Authorities are no longer willing to let unanswered questions remain buried.

Whether the search will uncover definitive evidence remains uncertain. But for the first time in years, there is renewed momentum.

The world is watching closely.
