A Final Post Before the Tragedy

Jordan Wright was seen enjoying an infinity pool in Phuket, Thailand. He raised a glass in a relaxed moment. His caption said he had returned home. He added a Thai flag emoji, even though he was British.

He had appeared on the popular ITV reality show “The Only Way Is Essex.” In the photo, he looked calm and content.

Just eight days later, everything changed.

Discovery in a Drainage Canal

On March 14, 2026, at around 12:30 PM, a worker from Myanmar was harvesting vegetables near Bang Tao Beach. While walking near a drainage canal, he noticed something unusual in the water.

He saw a person floating face down. The body was motionless in dark, stagnant water. The clothes included a gray shirt and black pants. The person was not wearing shoes.

The body showed signs of swelling after prolonged immersion. The worker immediately called the police.

Officers arrived quickly. They found a hotel key card in the victim’s pocket. It belonged to COCO Phuket Bangtao Hotel.

The hotel was about a 20 minute walk from the canal.

The victim was confirmed to be Jordan Wright, a 33 year old man.

A Familiar Face from Reality TV

Jordan Wright was from Basildon in Essex, England. He became known through reality television.

In 2017, he appeared on the MTV series “Ex on the Beach.” He featured in eight episodes.

The following year, he joined “The Only Way Is Essex,” often abbreviated as TOWIE. He became a regular cast member for seasons 22 and 23. He appeared in 17 episodes.

He gained attention for his interactions with female cast members. He was also involved in a well known on set dispute.

Outside of television, Jordan worked as a firefighter in London. He was employed by the London Fire Brigade.

His time on reality TV did not go smoothly. He was eventually removed from the show.

Searching for Meaning and Stability

In 2023, Jordan spoke openly about feeling empty and unfulfilled during his time in reality TV.

He returned to firefighting. He hoped to find more meaning and stability in his life.

Later, he changed direction again. He left the fire service and entered the financial sector.

He became a director at a boutique investment firm named Hampton Gate Wealth. His focus was on investment strategies for high net worth clients.

A New Beginning in Thailand

According to immigration records, Jordan entered Thailand on December 3, 2025. He arrived on a tourist visa.

Online, his life appeared vibrant. He rode a motorcycle across Phuket. He went diving with friends. He drank by the beach. He soaked in a bathtub overlooking mountains.

He described this phase as a fresh start.

But the investigation suggests something very different happened.

Strange Behavior Before His Death

Security footage revealed unusual behavior before his death.

On March 12, at around 11:25 PM, Jordan appeared on a street near the hotel. He was running.

He kept looking back over his shoulder. His expression appeared anxious and panicked.

He ran toward a white Toyota pickup truck. He grabbed the back of the vehicle for support. Then he turned and ran into the hotel grounds.

Inside the hotel, he did not stop. He paced around. Then he ran out again toward nearby fields.

Surprisingly, no other person was visible in the footage.

A Disturbing Phone Call

About 12 minutes later, another recording captured him on a phone call.

At 11:37 PM, he stood near the drainage canal. He was arguing loudly. His tone was aggressive.

Investigators believe the conversation involved violent conflict. He may have mentioned a gunfight.

He reportedly said, “Don’t cheat, okay, brother.”

Witnesses nearby heard him shouting. A family living in the area said he sounded like he was in a disturbed state.

They later heard splashing sounds. After that, everything became quiet.

The Timeline of His Disappearance

The next day, Jordan did not check out of the hotel.

Staff tried to contact him but failed. They contacted the police.

A day later, the Myanmar worker discovered his body.

No Evidence of a Pursuer

Police reviewed all available surveillance footage. They found no sign of anyone chasing him.

No other voices were heard in the recordings.

This raised a major question.

What was he running from?

Investigators still consider the possibility that he may have been fleeing a person who remained stationary.

Dangerous Conditions in the Canal

Authorities noted that parts of the canal were deep. In some areas, the water reached chest level.

Combined with darkness and his possible distressed mental state, it may have been impossible for him to escape on his own.

There were no signs of physical assault on his body.

Police also checked his hotel room. There was no sign of forced entry or suspicious activity.

Ongoing Investigation

His body was transferred to Vachira Phuket Hospital for a forensic examination.

Officials are checking for traces of drugs or alcohol in his system.

The cause of death has not been officially confirmed. The investigation is still ongoing.

Unanswered Questions

Jordan Wright’s final moments remain unclear.

Why was he running? Who or what was he afraid of?

Until the autopsy results are released, the mystery remains unsolved.

For now, his story stands as a tragic and unsettling case.
