For most dogs, reaching the age of 12 means slowing down and enjoying a peaceful life. But for a farm dog named Honey, retirement was never part of the plan. Despite her age and fading eyesight, she remained fiercely protective of her home.

When the bear finally approached, Honey did not hesitate. She charged forward alongside another dog named Zoe. What followed was a violent clash. Zoe escaped with only minor injuries, largely because Honey took the full force of the attack.
Animal rescuers later described the moment in emotional terms. They said no one could know exactly what happened in the darkness. But one thing was certain.
